A Notice Board Article is a considered, definitive statement; Forums tend to be expressions of opinions.

A Notice Board Article usually consists of a single item; Forum items often consist of multiple entries on each topic.

A Notice Board Article is a structured and formatted item; Forums tend to be unstructured with an initial Post followed by multiple replies where many users can join in the discussion

The choice largely depends on your level of confidence in the information you wish to publish. If you wish to publish the results of your genealogy research and you are not entirely confident about your analysis, you may want to publish the results in a Forum and invite others to join a discussion on the subject. However, if you believe your analysis is sound you should publish an Article in the Notice Board.

Yes. However, the E-mail address cannot be modified by the user directly as this address is used by the administrators as the primary means of communication with the user.  If you need to change your e-mail address, please contact the Webmaster using the Change of E-mail Address form provided as part of the Contact Us facility.

For Registered Users, this form can be found here: Change of E-Mail Address

Users will sometimes see an error message when trying to access a page on this Web Site.
500 Internal Server Error
The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.

This is an intermittent problem with the web hosting servers.  It does not mean that the user has done anything wrong or that there is any error in the software.

To recover from this error simply refresh your browser screen by pressing "Refresh" or "Reload".

You can become a Registered User by completing the registration process.

The first step is to enter your details by selecting the "Register now!" option on the main menu on the home page.

Your registration request will be sent to the Webmaster for review.  This allows the Stedman Cousins to gain a better understanding of the users, their backgrounds and their interests.

The Webmaster may ask you for additional information.

Once your registration request has been accepted, the Webmaster will activate your userid.
